Jaw Fractures

Jaw Fracture Repair for Dogs and Cats

Jaw fractures are the result of trauma to the head or secondary to severe periodontal disease. When an injury happens it is best to seek initial care by your regular veterinarian or an after-hours emergency clinic. We evaluate jaw fractures with dental radiography and cone beam CT. Treatment varies widely based on the location and severity of the fractures. While some may not require surgical treatment, many require surgical stabilization with the goal to restore a functional, pain free mouth.
